No AI inside

Chatterbox does exactly two things: it turns your talking into text, and it reads text back out loud. There is no AI in it, and nothing you type or dictate is sent anywhere — it all runs in this browser on your device's own voice and microphone.

The only key in the whole app is the optional Version 3 box below: your own speech key, kept on this device and used for one thing — switching the monthly meter off.

Version 3 · your own key

Versions 1 and 2 read on the store's monthly allowance. On Version 3 you can paste a speech key of your own and the meter stops — as many read-alouds as you like, on your own account. The key never leaves this browser.

No key saved. Read-alouds count against the monthly allowance.

Locked feature

All three prices are struck through for the beta. Join now and you stay free after it ends. Same app, same one job — talk it in, hear it back. The versions only decide how much say you get over the voice, how far the words can travel once you have them, and whose account the reading runs on.
